Abstract

We are concerned with the third-order linear differential equation (q(qy))+py+ry=0 defined on an interval [t0,). We derive asymptotic solutions for cases characterized by p being “small” and “large”, respectively. Our main tool is a result by Eastham on the asymptotic solution of linear differential systems.
