A FUNDAMENTAL LEMMA FOR MONOTONICITY

Abstract

The paper contains several useful definitions which lead to the following monotonicity theorem: if $F$ is $C_d\cap (\overline{M})$ on $[a,b]$ and $F^{\prime }(x)\le 0$ a.e. where $F$ is derivable, then $F$ is decreasing on $[a,b]$.
