Let us assume that a 2-torus homeomorphism $f$ isotopic to the identity has a segment of irrational slope as its rotation set $\rho(F)$. We prove that if the chain recurrent set $R(f)$ of $f$ is not chain transitive, then $\rho(F)$ has a rational point realized by a periodic point.

This paper is a continuation of the previous paper [Ta] where we studied local static bifurcation theory for a class of \textit{degenerate} boundary value problems for semilinear second-order elliptic differential operators which includes as particular cases the Dirichlet and Neumann problems. This paper is devoted to \textit{global} static bifurcation theory.

We consider nonnegative solutions to the exterior Dirichlet problem for quasilinear parabolic equations $u_t=\Delta u^m+u^p$ with $p=m+2/N$ and $m\geq 1$. In this paper we show that when $N\geq 3$ all nontrivial solutions to above problem blow up in finite time. For this aim, it is important to study the asymptotic behavior of solutions to the exterior Dirichlet problem for the quasilinear parabolic equations $u_t=\Delta u^m$.

In this paper, we will obtain some new intrinsic rigidity theorems of compact totally real minimal submanifolds in a quaternion projective space. So the corresponding results due to B. Y. Chen and C. S. Houh as well as Y. B. Shen are improved.
