We consider an optimal fourth-order method for solving nonlinear equations and construct polynomials such that the rational map arising from the method applied to these polynomials has an attracting periodic orbit of any prescribed period.

This paper presents a class of new numerical methods for nonlinear functional-integrodifferential equations, which are derived by an adaptation of Pouzet-Runge-Kutta methods originally introduced for standard Volterra integrodifferential equations. Based on the nonclassical Lipschitz condition, analytical and numerical stability is studied and some novel stability criteria are obtained. Numerical experiments further illustrate the theoretical results and the effectiveness of the methods. In the end, a comparison between the presented methods and the existed related methods is given.

We consider a new class of boundary value problems of nonlinear fractional differential equations with fractional separated boundary conditions. A connection between classical separated and fractional separated boundary conditions is developed. Some new existence and uniqueness results are obtained for this class of problems by using standard fixed point theorems. Some illustrative examples are also discussed.

This paper aims to establish the Tikhonov regularization theory for set-valued variational inequalities. For this purpose, we firstly prove a very general existence result for set-valued variational inequalities, provided that the mapping involved has the so-called variational inequality property and satisfies a rather weak coercivity condition. The result on the Tikhonov regularization improves some known results proved for single-valued mapping.

A new reliable algorithm based on an adaptation of the standard generalized differential transform method (GDTM) is presented. The GDTM is treated as an algorithm in a sequence of intervals (i.e., time step) for finding accurate approximate solutions of fractional-order Rössler chaotic and hyperchaotic systems. A comparative study between the new algorithm and the classical Runge-Kutta method is presented in the case of integer-order derivatives. The algorithm described in this paper is expected to be further employed to solve similar nonlinear problems in fractional calculus.

Obtaining periodic orbits of dynamical systems is the main source of information about how the orbits, in general, are organized. In this paper, we extend classical continuation algorithms in order to be able to obtain families of periodic orbits with high-precision. These periodic orbits can be corrected to get them with arbitrary precision. We illustrate the method with two important classical Hamiltonian problems.

The multiple-set split feasibility problem (MSSFP), as a generalization of the split feasibility problem, is to find a point in the intersectionof a family of closed convex sets in one space such that its imageunder a linear transformation will be in the intersection of anotherfamily of closed convex sets in the image space. Censor et al. (2005) proposed a method for solving the multiple-set split feasibility problem (MSSFP), whose efficiency depends heavily on the step size, a fixed constant related to the Lipschitz constant of $\nabla p\left(x\right)$ which may be slow. Inthis paper, we present an accelerated algorithm by introducing anextrapolated factor to solve the multiple-set split feasibilityproblem. The framework encompasses the algorithm presented by Censoret al. (2005). The convergence of the method is investigated, and numerical experiments are provided to illustrate the benefits of the extrapolation.

The closed Newton-Cotes differential methods of high algebraic order for small number of function evaluations are unstable. In this work, we propose a new closed Newton-Cotes trigonometrically fitted differential method of high algebraic order which gives much more efficient results than the well-know ones.

This paper presents sufficient conditions for the existence of positive solutions for a class of integral inclusions. Our results are obtained via a new fixed point theorem for multivalued operators developed in the paper, in which some nonnegative function is used to describe the cone expansion and compression instead of the classical norm-type, and lead to new existence principles.

We consider autonomous evolution inclusions and hemivariational inequalities with nonsmooth dependence between determinative parameters of a problem. The dynamics of all weak solutions defined on the positive semiaxis of time is studied. We prove the existence of trajectory and global attractors and investigate their structure. New properties of complete trajectories are justified. We study classes of mathematical models for geophysical processes and fields containing the multidimensional “reaction-displacement” law as one of possible application. The pointwise behavior of such problem solutions on attractor is described.

We discuss biological background and mathematical analysis of glioma gene therapy for contributing to cancer treatment. By a reaction-diffusion system, we model interactions between gliom cells and viruses. We establish some sufficient conditions on model parameters which guarantee the permanence of the system and the existence of periodic solutions. Our study has experimental and theoretical implication in the perspective management strategy of therapy.

By considering that people may immunize their computers with countermeasures in susceptible state, exposed state and using anti-virus software may take a period of time, a computer virus model with time delay based on an SEIR model is proposed. We regard time delay as bifurcating parameter to study the dynamical behaviors which include local asymptotical stability and local Hopf bifurcation. By analyzing the associated characteristic equation, Hopf bifurcation occurs when time delay passes through a sequence of critical value. The linerized model and stability of the bifurcating periodic solutions are also derived by applying the normal form theory and the center manifold theorem. Finally, an illustrative example is also given to support the theoretical results.

Fixed point (especially, the minimum norm fixed point) computation is an interesting topic due to its practical applications in natural science. The purpose of the paper is devoted to finding the common fixed points of an infinite family of nonexpansive mappings. We introduce an iterative algorithm and prove that suggested scheme converges strongly to the common fixed points of an infinite family of nonexpansive mappings under some mild conditions. As a special case, we can find the minimum norm common fixed point of an infinite family of nonexpansive mappings.

Delayed plant disease mathematical models including continuous cultural control strategy and impulsive cultural control strategy are presented and investigated. Firstly, we consider continuous cultural control strategy in which continuous replanting of healthy plants is taken. The existence and local stability of disease-free equilibrium and positive equilibrium are studied by analyzing the associated characteristic transcendental equation. And then, plant disease model with impulsive replanting of healthy plants is also considered; the sufficient condition under which the infected plant-free periodic solution is globally attritive is obtained. Moreover, permanence of the system is studied. Some numerical simulations are also given to illustrate our results.

Motivated by its possible applications in mechanics and mechanical engineering, in our previous published work (Pitea and Postolache, 2011), we initiated an optimization theory for the second-order jet bundle. We considered the problem of minimization of vectors of curvilinear functionals (well known as mechanical work), thought as multitime multiobjective variational problems, subject to PDE and/or PDI constraints. Within this framework, we introduced necessary optimality conditions. As natural continuation of these results, the present work introduces a study of sufficient efficiency conditions.

The GDTM-Padé technique is a combination of the generalized differential transform method and the Padé approximation. We apply this technique to solve the two nonlinear lattice equations, which results in the high accuracy of the GDTM-Padé solutions. Numerical results are presented to show its efficiency by comparing the GDTM-Padé solutions, the solutions obtained by the generalized differential transform method, and the exact solutions.

We present the application of the sn-ns method to solve nonlinear partial differential equations. We show that the well-known tanh-coth method is a particular case of the sn-ns method.

Motivated and inspired by Korpelevich's and Noor's extragradient methods, we suggest an extragradient method by using the sunny nonexpansive retraction which has strong convergence for solving the generalized variational inequalities in Banach spaces.

We study traveling waves for a two-dimensional lattice dynamical system with bistable nonlinearity in periodic media. The existence and the monotonicity in time of traveling waves can be derived in the same way as the one-dimensional lattice case. In this paper, we derive the uniqueness of nonzero speed traveling waves by using the comparison principle and the sliding method.

We define and study some subclasses of analytic functions by using a certain multiplier transformation. These functions map the open unit disc onto the domains formed by parabolic and hyperbolic regions and extend the concept of uniformly close-to-convexity. Some interesting properties of these classes, which include inclusion results, coefficient problems, and invariance under certain integral operators, are discussed. The results are shown to be the best possible.

The decomposition of a monochromatic wave over a submerged object is investigated numerically in a flume, based on a fully nonlinear HOBEM (higher-order boundary element method) model. Bound and free higher-harmonic waves propagating downstream the structure are discriminated by means of a two-point method. The developed numerical model is verified very well by comparison with the available data. Further numerical experiments are carried out to study the relations between free higher harmonics and wave nonlinearity. It is found that the nth-harmonic wave amplitude is growing proportional to the nth power of the incoming wave amplitude for weakly nonlinear wave condition, but higher-harmonic free wave amplitudes tend to a constant value for strong nonlinear wave condition.

The one-parameter deformed exponential function was introduced as a frame that enchases a few known functions of this type. Such deformation requires the corresponding deformed operations (addition and subtraction) and deformed operators (derivative and antiderivative). In this paper, we will demonstrate this theory in researching of some functions defined by iterated deformed Laguerre operator. We study their properties, such as representation, orthogonality, generating function, differential and difference equation, and addition and summation formulas. Also, we consider these functions by the operational method.

We will prove the stability of the functional equation $2f\left({\sum }_{i=1}^n{x}_i\right)+$ ${\sum }_{1\le i,j\le n,i\ne j}f(x_i-x_j)=$ $(n+1){\sum }_{i=1}^{n}f\left(x_i\right)+(n-1){\sum }_{i=1}^{n}f(-x_i)$ in non-Archimedean normed spaces.

This paper is devoted to the stability and convergence analysis of the Additive Runge-Kutta methods with the Lagrangian interpolation (ARKLMs) for the numerical solution of multidelay-integro-differential equations (MDIDEs). GDN-stability and D-convergence are introduced and proved. It is shown that strongly algebraically stability gives D-convergence, DA- DAS- and ASI-stability give GDN-stability. A numerical example is given to illustrate the theoretical results.

We present an efficient computational algorithm, namely, the enhanced multistage differential transform method (E-MsDTM) for solving prey-predator systems. Since the differential transform method (DTM) is based on the Taylor series, it is difficult to obtain accurate approximate solutions in large domain. To overcome this difficulty, the multistage differential transform method (MsDTM) has been introduced and succeeded to have reliable approximate solutions for many problems. In MsDTM, it is the key to update an initial condition in each subdomain. The standard MsDTM utilizes the approximate solution directly to assign the new initial value. Because of local convergence of the Taylor series, the error is accumulated in a large domain. In E-MsDTM, we propose the new technique to update an initial condition by using integral operator. To demonstrate efficiency of the proposed method, several numerical tests are performed and compared with ones obtained by other numerical methods such as MsDTM, multistage variational iteration method (MVIM), and fourth-order Runge-Kutta method (RK4).

We define a class ${\tilde{T}}_k$ [$\mathrm{A,\; B}$, $\alpha$, $\rho$] of analytic functions by using Janowski’s functions which generalizes a number of classes studied earlier such as the class of strongly close-to-convex functions. Some properties of this class, including arc length, coefficient problems, and a distortion result, are investigated. We also discuss the growth of Hankel determinant problem.

The purpose of this paper is to construct an implicit algorithm for finding the common solution of maximal monotone operators and strictly pseudocontractive mappings in Hilbert spaces. Some applications are also included.

Based on the characteristics of the truncated Painlevé expansion method and the Exp-function method, new generalized solitary wave solutions are constructed for the KdV-Burgers-Kuramoto equation, which cannot be directly constructed from the Exp-function method. This work highlights the power of the Exp-function method in providing generalized solitary wave solutions of different physical structures.

The main purpose of this paper is by using a hybrid algorithm to find a common element of the set of solutions for a generalized mixed equilibrium problem, the set of solutions for variational inequality problems, and the set of common fixed points for a infinite family of total quasi-$\varphi$-asymptotically nonexpansive multivalued mapping in a real uniformly smooth and strictly convex Banach space with Kadec-Klee property. The results presented in this paper improve and extend some recent results announced by some authors.

A family of derivative-free methods of seventh-order convergence for solving nonlinear equations is suggested. In the proposed methods, several linear combinations of divided differences are used in order to get a good estimation of the derivative of the given function at the different steps of the iteration. The efficiency indices of the members of this family are equal to 1.6266. Also, numerical examples are used to show the performance of the presented methods, on smooth and nonsmooth equations, and to compare with other derivative-free methods, including some optimal fourth-order ones, in the sense of Kung-Traub’s conjecture.

We study fractional variational problems in terms of a generalized fractional integral with Lagrangians depending on classical derivatives, generalized fractional integrals and derivatives. We obtain necessary optimality conditions for the basic and isoperimetric problems, as well as natural boundary conditions for free-boundary value problems. The fractional action-like variational approach (FALVA) is extended and some applications to physics discussed.

Finding accurate solution of chaotic system by using efficient existing numerical methods is very hard for its complex dynamical behaviors. In this paper, the multistage homotopy-perturbation method (MHPM) is applied to the Chaotic Genesio system. The MHPM is a simple reliable modification based on an adaptation of the standard homotopy-perturbation method (HPM). The HPM is treated as an algorithm in a sequence of intervals for finding accurate approximate solutions to the Chaotic Genesio system. Numerical comparisons between the MHPM and the classical fourth-order Runge-Kutta (RK4) solutions are made. The results reveal that the new technique is a promising tool for the nonlinear chaotic systems of ordinary differential equations.

We propose a convergence analysis of a new decomposition method to solve structured optimization problems. The proposed scheme is based on a class of modified Lagrangians combined with the allocation of resources decomposition algorithm. Under mild assumptions, we show that the method generates convergent primal-dual sequences.

It is well known that the mixed variational inequalities are equivalent to the fixed point problem. We use this alternative equivalent formulation to suggest some new proximal point methods for solving the mixed variational inequalities. These new methods include the explicit, the implicit, and the extragradient method as special cases. The convergence analysis of these new methods is considered under some suitable conditions. Our method of constructing these iterative methods is very simple. Results proved in this paper may stimulate further research in this direction.

We study the behavior at infinity in time of any global solution $\theta \in \mathcal{C}({\mathbb{R}}^{+},{\dot{H}}^{2-2\alpha }({\mathbb{R}}^2\left)\right)$ of the surface quasigeostrophic equation with subcritical exponent $2/3\le \alpha \le 1$. We prove that ${\lim }_{t\to \infty }\parallel \theta \left(t\right){\parallel }_{{\dot{H}}^{2-2\alpha }}=0$. Moreover, we prove also the nonhomogeneous version of the previous result, and we prove that if $\theta \in \mathcal{C}({\mathbb{R}}^{+},{\dot{H}}^{2-2\alpha }({\mathbb{R}}^2\left)\right)$ is a global solution, then ${\lim }_{t\to \infty }\parallel \theta \left(t\right){\parallel }_{H^{2-2\alpha }}=0$.

The aim of this paper is to define and study a class of Bazilevic functions using the generalized Salagean operator. Some properties of this class are investigated: inclusion relation, some convolution properties, coefficient bounds, and other interesting results.

A Rogalski-Cornet type inclusion theorem based on two Hausdorff locally convex vector spaces is proved and composed of two parts. An example is presented to show that the associated set-valued map in the first part does not need any conventional continuity conditions including upper hemicontinuous. As an application, solvability results regarding an abstract von Neumann inclusion system are obtained.

We present and investigate a method of chaotic pulse-time modulation (PTM) named chaotic pulse-width-position modulation (CPWPM) which is the combination of pulse-position-modulation (PPM) and pulse-width modulation (PWM) with the inclusion of chaos technique for digital communications. CPWPM signal is in the pulse train format, in which binary information is modulated onto chaotically-varied intervals of position and width of pulses, and therefore two bits are encoded on a single pulse. The operation of the method is described and the theoretical evaluation of bit-error rate (BER) performance in the presence of additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) is provided. In addition, the chaotic behavior with tent map and its effect on average parameters of the system are investigated. Theoretical estimation and numerical simulation of a CPWPM system with specific parameters are carried out in order to verify the performance of the proposed method.

It is known that strictly pseudocontractive mappings have more powerful applications than nonexpansive mappings in solving inverse problems. In this paper, we devote to study computing the fixed points of strictly pseudocontractive mappings by the iterations. Two iterative methods (one implicit and another explicit) for finding the fixed point of strictly pseudocontractive mappings have been constructed in Hilbert spaces. As special cases, we can use these two methods to find the minimum norm fixed point of strictly pseudocontractive mappings.

This paper investigates both the transient and the steady state of a one-step nth-order oxidation exothermic reaction in a slab of combustible material with an insulated lower surface and an isothermal upper surface, taking into consideration reactant consumption. The nonlinear partial differential equation governing the transient reaction-diffusion problem is solved numerically using a semidiscretization finite difference technique. The steady-state problem is solved using a perturbation technique together with a special type of the Hermite-Padé approximants. Graphical results are presented and discussed quantitatively with respect to various embedded parameters controlling the systems. The crucial roles played by the boundary conditions in determining the thermal ignition criticality are demonstrated.

The localized normal-score ensemble Kalman filter is shown to work for the characterization of non-multi-Gaussian distributed hydraulic conductivities by assimilating state observation data. The influence of type of flow regime, number of observation piezometers, and the prior model structure are evaluated in a synthetic aquifer. Steady-state observation data are not sufficient to identify the conductivity channels. Transient-state data are necessary for a good characterization of the hydraulic conductivity curvilinear patterns. Such characterization is very good with a dense network of observation data, and it deteriorates as the number of observation piezometers decreases. It is also remarkable that, even when the prior model structure is wrong, the localized normal-score ensemble Kalman filter can produce acceptable results for a sufficiently dense observation network.

A homotopy perturbation transformation method (HPTM) which is based on homotopy perturbation method and Laplace transform is first applied to solve the approximate solution of the fractional nonlinear equations. The nonlinear terms can be easily handled by the use of He's polynomials. Illustrative examples are included to demonstrate the high accuracy and fast convergence of this new algorithm.

We investigate an Oseen two-level stabilized finite-element method based on the local pressure projection for the 2D/3D steady Navier-Stokes equations by the lowest order conforming finite-element pairs (i.e., $Q_1-P_0$ and $P_1-P_0$). Firstly, in contrast to other stabilized methods, they are parameter free, no calculation of higher-order derivatives and edge-based data structures, implemented at the element level with minimal cost. In addition, the Oseen two-level stabilized method involves solving one small nonlinear Navier-Stokes problem on the coarse mesh with mesh size H, a large general Stokes equation on the fine mesh with mesh size $h=O{\left(H\right)}^2$. The Oseen two-level stabilized finite-element method provides an approximate solution ($u^h,p^h$) with the convergence rate of the same order as the usual stabilized finite-element solutions, which involves solving a large Navier-Stokes problem on a fine mesh with mesh size h. Therefore, the method presented in this paper can save a large amount of computational time. Finally, numerical tests confirm the theoretical results. Conclusion can be drawn that the Oseen two-level stabilized finite-element method is simple and efficient for solving the 2D/3D steady Navier-Stokes equations.

We introduce new implicit and explicit algorithms for finding the fixed point of a k-strictly pseudocontractive mapping and for solving variational inequalities related to the Lipschitzian and strongly monotone operator in Hilbert spaces. We establish results on the strong convergence of the sequences generated by the proposed algorithms to a fixed point of a k-strictly pseudocontractive mapping. Such a point is also a solution of a variational inequality defined on the set of fixed points. As direct consequences, we obtain the unique minimum-norm fixed point of a k-strictly pseudocontractive mapping.

An iteration process studied by Chidume and Zegeye 2002 is proved to converge strongly to a solution of the equation $Au=0$ where A is a bounded m-accretive operator on certain real Banach spaces E that include $L_p$ spaces The iteration process does not involve the computation of the resolvent at any step of the process and does not involve the projection of an initial vector onto the intersection of two convex subsets of E, setbacks associated with the classical proximal point algorithm of Martinet 1970, Rockafellar 1976 and its modifications by various authors for approximating of a solution of this equation. The ideas of the iteration process are applied to approximate fixed points of uniformly continuous pseudocontractive maps.

In our present investigation, motivated from Noor work, we define the class ${ℛ}_k^s$($b$) of functions of bounded radius rotation of complex order $b$ with respect to symmetrical points and learn some of its basic properties. We also apply this concept to define the class ${\mathcal{H}}_k^s\left(\alpha ,b,\delta \right)$. We study some interesting results, including arc length, coefficient difference, and univalence sufficient condition for this class.

We introduce a new method for solving Riccati differential equations, which is based on reproducing kernel method and quasilinearization technique. The quasilinearization technique is used to reduce the Riccati differential equation to a sequence of linear problems. The resulting sets of differential equations are treated by using reproducing kernel method. The solutions of Riccati differential equations obtained using many existing methods give good approximations only in the neighborhood of the initial position. However, the solutions obtained using the present method give good approximations in a larger interval, rather than a local vicinity of the initial position. Numerical results compared with other methods show that the method is simple and effective.

A class of three-dimensional Gause-type predator-prey model with delay is considered. Firstly, a group of sufficient conditions for the existence of Hopf bifurcation is obtained via employing the polynomial theorem by analyzing the distribution of the roots of the associated characteristic equation. Secondly, the direction of the Hopf bifurcation and the stability of the bifurcated periodic solutions are determined by applying the normal form method and the center manifold theorem. Finally, some numerical simulations are carried out to illustrate the obtained results.

Noor (“Extended general variational inequalities,” 2009, “Auxiliary principle technique for extended general variational inequalities,” 2008, “Sensitivity analysis of extended general variational inequalities,” 2009, “Projection iterative methods for extended general variational inequalities,” 2010) introduced and studied a new class of variational inequalities, which is called the extended general variational inequality involving three different operators. This class of variational inequalities includes several classes of variational inequalities and optimization problems. The main motivation of this paper is to review some aspects of these variational inequalities including the iterative methods and sensitivity analysis. We expect that this paper may stimulate future research in this field along with novel applications.

Suitable spline functions of polynomial form are derived and used to solve linear and nonlinearfractional differential equations. The proposed method is applicable for and $\alpha \ge 1$, where $\alpha$ denotes the order of the fractional derivative in the Caputo sense. The results obtainedare in good agreement with the exact analytical solutions and the numerical results presentedelsewhere. Results also show that the technique introduced here is robust and easy to apply.

We suggest and analyze a residual iterative method for solving absolute value equations $Ax-\left|x\right|=b$ where $A\in R^{n\times n}$, $b\in R^n$ are given and $x\in R^n$ is unknown, using the projection technique. We also discuss the convergence of the proposed method. Several examples are given to illustrate the implementation and efficiency of the method. Comparison with other methods is also given. Results proved in this paper may stimulate further research in this fascinating field.

Making use of the concept of k-uniformly bounded boundary rotation and Ruscheweyh differential operator, we introduce some new classes of meromorphic functions in the punctured unit disc. Convolution technique and principle of subordination are used to investigate these classes. Inclusion results, generalized Bernardi integral operator, and rate of growth of coefficients are studied. Some interesting consequences are also derived from the main results.

A predator-prey system with Holling type II functional response and stage structure for prey is presented. The local and global stability are studied by analyzing the associated characteristic transcendental equation and using comparison theorem. The existence of a Hopf bifurcation at the positive equilibrium is also studied. Some numerical simulations are also given to illustrate our results.

To overcome the staircasing effects introduced by the TV regularization in image restoration, this paper investigates a fourth-order partial differential equation (PDE) filter for removing Poisson noise. In consideration of the slow convergence property of the classical gradient descent method, we adopt the alternating minimization algorithm for realizing this scheme. Compared with the corresponding total variation based one, numerical simulations distinctly indicate the superiority of our proposed strategy in handling smooth regions of Poissonian images and improving the computational speed.

In this paper, we introduce an iterative method for solving the multiple-set split feasibility problems for asymptotically strict pseudocontractions in infinite-dimensional Hilbert spaces, and, by using the proposed iterative method, we improve and extend some recent results given by some authors.

An approximate analytical solution of fractional Fornberg-Whitham equation was obtained with the help of the two-dimensional differential transformation method (DTM). It is indicated that the solutions obtained by the two-dimensional DTM are reliable and present an effective method for strongly nonlinear partial equations. Exact solutions can also be obtained from the known forms of the series solutions.

This paper is concerned with the stability of analytical and numerical solutions for nonlinear stochastic delay differential equations (SDDEs) with jumps. A sufficient condition for mean-square exponential stability of the exact solution is derived. Then, mean-square stability of the numerical solution is investigated. It is shown that the compensated stochastic θ methods inherit stability property of the exact solution. More precisely, the methods are mean-square stable for any stepsize $\Delta t=\tau /m$ when $1/2\le \theta \le 1$, and they are exponentially mean-square stable if the stepsize $\Delta t\in (0,\Delta t_0)$ when . Finally, some numerical experiments are given to illustrate the theoretical results.

We introduce a new class of functions analytic in the open unit disc, which contains the class of Bazilevic functions and also generalizes the concept of uniform convexity. We establish univalence criterion for the functions in this class and investigate rate of growth of coefficients, arc length problem, inclusion results, and distortion bounds. Some interesting results are derived as special cases.

We discuss the asymptotic behavior of solutions for semilinear parabolic equations on the Heisenberg group with a singular potential. The singularity is controlled by Hardy's inequality, and the nonlinearity is controlled by Sobolev's inequality. We also establish the existence of a global branch of the corresponding steady states via the classical Rabinowitz theorem.

The two most important steps in application of the homotopy perturbation method are to construct a suitable homotopy equation and to choose a suitable initial guess. The homotopy equation should be such constructed that when the homotopy parameter is zero, it can approximately describe the solution property, and the initial solution can be chosen with an unknown parameter, which is determined after one or two iterations. This paper suggests an alternative approach to construction of the homotopy equation with an auxiliary term; Dufing equation is used as an example to illustrate the solution procedure.

We investigate squeezing flow between two large parallel plates by transforming the basic governing equations of the first grade fluid to an ordinary nonlinear differential equation using the stream functions $u_r\left(r,z,t\right)=\left(1/r\right)\left(\partial \psi /\partial z\right)$ and $u_z\left(r,z,t\right)=-\left(1/r\right)\left(\partial \psi /\partial r\right)$ and a transformation $\psi \left(r,z\right)=r^{2}F\left(z\right)$. The velocity profiles are investigated through various analytical techniques like Adomian decomposition method, new iterative method, homotopy perturbation, optimal homotopy asymptotic method, and differential transform method.

We consider a general variational inequality and fixed point problem, which is to find a point $x^{*}$ with the property that (GVF): $x^{*}\in \text{GVI}(C,A)$ and $g\left(x^{*}\right)\in \text{Fix}\left(S\right)$ where $\text{GVI}(C,A)$ is the solution set of some variational inequality $\text{Fix}\left(S\right)$ is the fixed points set of nonexpansive mapping $S$, and $g$ is a nonlinear operator. Assume the solution set $\Omega$ of (GVF) is nonempty. For solving (GVF), we suggest the following method $g\left(x_{n+1}\right)=\beta g\left(x_n\right)+(1-\beta )S{P}_C\left[{\alpha }_{n}F\right(x_n)+(1-{\alpha }_n\left)\right(g\left(x_n\right)-\lambda A{x}_n\left)\right]$, $n\ge 0$. It is shown that the sequence $\left\{x_n\right\}$ converges strongly to $x^{*}\in \Omega$ which is the unique solution of the variational inequality $\langle F\left(x^{*}\right)-g\left(x^{*}\right),g\left(x\right)-g\left(x^{*}\right)\rangle \le 0$, for all $x\in \Omega$.

We introduce the class of $\mathrm{(\alpha },\mathrm{\beta )}$-hybrid mappings relativeto a Bregman distance $D_f$ in a Banach space, and then we study the fixedpoint and weak convergence problem for such mappings.

We are concerned with the existence and uniqueness of a positive and nondecreasing solution for the following nonlinear fractional m-point boundary value problem: , where $D_{0^{+}}^{\alpha }$ denotes the standard Riemann-Liouville fractional derivative, $f:\left[\mathrm{0,1}\right]\times [0,\infty )\to [0,\infty )$ is a continuous function, $a_i\ge 0$ for $i=\mathrm{1,2},\dots ,m-2$, and . Our analysis relies on a fixed point theorem in partially ordered sets. Some examples are also presented to illustrate the main results.

We find the greatest value $\alpha$ and the least value $\beta$ in $\mathrm{(1}/2,\mathrm{1)}$ such that the double inequality holds for all $a,b>0$ with $a\ne b$. Here, $T(a,b)=(a-b)/[$2 arctan$\left(\right(a-b)/(a+b\left)\right)]$ and $C\left(a,b\right)=(a^2+b^2)/(a+b)$ are the Seiffert and contraharmonic means of $a$ and $b$, respectively.

We consider a one-dimensional semilinear parabolic equation with exponential gradient source and provide a complete classification of large time behavior of the classical solutions: either the space derivative of the solution blows up in finite time with the solution itself remaining bounded or the solution is global and converges in $C^1$ norm to the unique steady state. The main difficulty is to prove $C^1$ boundedness of all global solutions. To do so, we explicitly compute a nontrivial Lyapunov's functional by carrying out the method of Zelenyak.

We consider a fourth-order four-point boundary value problem for dynamic equations on time scales. By the upper and lower solution method, some results on the existence of solutions of the fourth-order four-point boundary value problem on time scales are obtained. An example is also included to illustrate our results.

The Bäcklund transformations and abundant exact explicit solutions for a class of nonlinear wave equation are obtained by the extended homogeneous balance method. These solutions include the solitary wave solution of rational function, the solitary wave solutions, singular solutions, and the periodic wave solutions of triangle function type. In addition to rederiving some known solutions, some entirely new exact solutions are also established. Explicit and exact particular solutions of many well-known nonlinear evolution equations which are of important physical significance, such as Kolmogorov-Petrovskii-Piskunov equation, FitzHugh-Nagumo equation, Burgers-Huxley equation, Chaffee-Infante reaction diffusion equation, Newell-Whitehead equation, Fisher equation, Fisher-Burgers equation, and an isothermal autocatalytic system, are obtained as special cases.

We solve some higher-order boundary value problems by the optimal homotopy asymptotic method (OHAM). The proposed method is capable to handle a wide variety of linear and nonlinear problems effectively. The numerical results given by OHAM are compared with the exact solutions and the solutions obtained by Adomian decomposition (ADM), variational iteration (VIM), homotopy perturbation (HPM), and variational iteration decomposition method (VIDM). The results show that the proposed method is more effective and reliable.

We introduce a new iterative algorithm for finding a common element of the set of solutions of a system of generalized mixed equilibrium problems, zero set of the sum of a maximal monotone operators and inverse-strongly monotone mappings, and the set of common fixed points of an infinite family of nonexpansive mappings with infinite real number. Furthermore, we prove under some mild conditions that the proposed iterative algorithm converges strongly to a common element of the above four sets, which is a solution of the optimization problem related to a strongly positive bounded linear operator. The results presented in the paper improve and extend the recent ones announced by many others.

We obtain some subordination- and superordination-preserving properties for a class of multiplier transformations associated with Noor integral operators defined on the space of normalized analytic functions in the open unit disk. The sandwich-type theorems for these transformations are also considered.

We suggest and analyze a modified extragradient method for solving variational inequalities, which is convergent strongly to the minimum-norm solution of some variational inequality in an infinite-dimensional Hilbert space.

The study of the dynamics of predator-prey interactions can be recognized as a major issue in mathematical biology. In the present paper, some Gauss predator-prey models in which three ecologically interacting species have been considered and the behavior of their solutions in the stability aspect have been investigated. The main aim of this paper is to consider the local and global stability properties of the equilibrium points for represented systems. Finally, stability of some examples of Gauss model with one prey and two predators is discussed.

The main object of the present paper is to discuss some extensions of certain integral operators and to obtain their order of convexity. Several other closely related results are also considered.

We introduce and study some new classes of variational inequalities and the Wiener-Hopf equations. Using essentially the projection technique, we establish the equivalence between these problems. This equivalence is used to suggest and analyze some iterative methods for solving the general multivalued variational in equalities in conjunction with nonexpansive mappings. We prove a strong convergence result for finding the common element of the set of fixed points of a nonexpansive mapping and the set of solutions of the general multivalued variational inequalities under some mild conditions. Several special cases are also discussed.

Let P be the class of functions p(z) of the form $p(z)=1+{\sum }_{n=1}^{\infty }{c}_n{z}^n$ which are analytic in the open unit disk . The object of the present paper is to derive certain argument inequalities of analytic functions p(z) in P.

Many applied problems such as image reconstructions and signal processing can be formulated as the split feasibility problem (SFP). Some algorithms have been introduced in the literature for solving the (SFP). In this paper, we will continue to consider the convergence analysis of the regularized methods for the (SFP). Two regularized methods are presented in the present paper. Under some different control conditions, we prove that the suggested algorithms strongly converge to the minimum norm solution of the (SFP).

We find the greatest values $p_1$, $p_2$ and least values $q_1$, $q_2$ such that the double inequalities and hold for all $a,b>0$ with $a\ne b$ and present some new bounds for the complete elliptic integrals. Here $M(a,b)$, $T(a,b)$, and $S_p(a,b)$ are the arithmetic-geometric, Toader, and $p$th Gini means of two positive numbers $a$ and $b$, respectively.
